About Me

I write about space, music, wildlife, and more. Whatever the genre, my stories are always about love.

I’m a women’s fiction writer focused on contemporary romance, but I’m open to opportunities aligned with my areas of interest –– my debut picture book about astronomy was one of my favorite projects last year! I love connecting with writers and readers on Instagram, where I post about my process.

In past lives, I went to grad school for literature, worked in international education, and taught at a girls’ boarding school. My hobbies include traveling, visiting the family homestead in Montana, and talking to people whose lives are infinitely more interesting than my own (shout out to the NASA scientists and music producers who are tired of my book research questions!).

I live in Arlington, Virginia with my husband and our dog, Korra.

Books always on my nightstand: North & South, Jane Eyre, Lord of the Rings, Devil in Winter, Philip Larkin’s poetry, Slouching Toward Bethlehem, Baldwin’s essays, The Golden Compass, The Kiss Quotient, and everything Austen forever.

Recent reads I’ve enjoyed: Weather Girl, It Happened One Summer, People We Meet on Vacation, The Fifth Season, Gilead, Tracy K. Smith’s Life on Mars
